Seeing a Friend in Vancouver

I have noticed that during the past couple of elections, there have been a lot of people who have said that if their candidate loses the election, they are going to leave the United States and move to Canada. The funny thing about all of these statements is that I don’t know a single person who has actually followed through on them. However, I do have a friend who moved to Canada two years ago. It didn’t have anything to do with politics, but he did get promoted to a management position within his company, which required him to transfer to his company’s Vancouver office.

While I had only talked to him through email or over the phone for close to two years, two months ago I decided to actually take a trip to Vancouver to see him in person. I had a couple days off of work (plus the weekend), so I decided it would be a lot of fun to check out Vancouver and also catch up with my friend in person.

Overall, I had a great time during my trip, and I definitely think that Vancouver is a place that I will visit again someday (especially if my friend remains at his Vancouver office).
